What is Emotional appeal?
Emotional appeal is a propaganda technique that arouses a reaction in you (or an emotion)
"Doritos Superbowl Commercial 2013 - Food Stop Motion - You Must Be Hungry - Made by Tiger." YouTube. YouTube, 1 Dec. 2012. Web. 27 Jan. 2015.
This video propaganda from the Doritos company draws out an emotional appeal technique by promoting both sadness and happiness through the voice of a little child. Using a child for the advertisement not only draws out the idea of innocence but the fact that the child is using Doritos to spend her time and be happy offers a good image about the Doritos. The introduction starts out with "my mom never told me to play with food, but there's always and exception!" and she also hugs her Doritos dinosaur and says "I love you!" which gives the emotion to the audience that eating this will make them happy because Doritos makes children happy.
